From Big Bang to 2NE1, YG Entertainment artists are pulling out all the stops to show off their talented hoobaes, WINNER prior to their highly anticipated debut. The boys will be now be joining the ladies of 2NE1, as the girls kick off their world tour ‘ALL OR NOTHING’, as guest performers.

According to YG Entertainment, WINNER have been invited as guests for 2NE1′s second world tour ‘AON (ALL OR NOTHING)’ concerts being held at SK Olympic Handball Stadium on March 1-2.

Exciting news for early Winner fans. In response to the public unrest regarding YG Entertainment ‘s brand new boy group, Yang Hyun Suk has officially released word about Winner’s debut in person!

In a public statement to Sports Korea, Yang Hyun Suk stated, “2014 will be an important year for YG Entertainment. Big Bang will release their 3rd full album in the summer. 2NE1 will become the first girl group to have a 2nd world tour. PSY will have a new release, and we will debut four new rookie groups.” It has been officially announced that Winner will debut in February.

On their debut, he said, “Usually, rookie groups debut with digital singles, but WINNER is preparing an official album. Fearsome songs will be born from the members’ producing abilities and YG Entertainment’s producers.”

YG Entertainment will also be debuting a new girl group. He said, “It’s not an early generation-swap. Through these [rookies], the YGE artist spectrum will be much wider.”

Furthermore, Yang Hyun Suk was asked if Team B would be one of the groups debuting this year. In response, YG mysteriously quipped, “That’s a secret.”

Any guesses on who those four groups could be?

YG’s Yang Hyun Suk shared more details about Winner’s upcoming debut schedules.

When the YG CEO met with reporters on January 26, he said, “I will be debuting four new groups this year, with Winner being one of them.”

“Originally, Winner was to debut right after Winner TV ended, but it has been postponed in order to better prepare,” he added. “We are preparing to release a full-length album, and not a digital single. Half of the tracks will be written by the members themselves.”

He also announced, “The plan for now is to have them debut at the end of February, but that’s not a firm set date. But if it gets postponed, it won’t be pushed back for more than a week or two.”

YG Entertainment’s newbie group WINNER captivates the audience with their clumsy but serious charms.
Episode 7 of WINNER TV aired at 10 pm on Jan 24 through Mnet and Naver TV Cast featured the 1st winter sports competition and horror session deceived as a new year’s interview. The 50-minute episode also showed their version of 2NE1’s ‘Missing You’ and the preview of the drama ‘The Heirs’ parody.

A total of 3 events were held for the sports competition, including running in the snow field, roll-of-the-dice sleigh race and snow sumo. The audience was able to forget the brutal coldness as members fired up for the competition. The horror session deceived as the new year interview freaked the grown-up members out, making the audience laugh.

The two features were enough to show unrevealed sides of WINNER. KIM JINWOO cheated to win the competition, going against the usual kind-heartedness and naivety, while the normally masculine SONG MINHO won no medal. In the horror session, KANG SEUNGYOON did not react to the scary ghosts, while LEE SEUNGHOON ran for his life. NAM TAEHYUN was the cute one, asking the staffers to come with him after being frightened by the ghosts.

The audience was entertained every second by their clumsy and serious traces, and their reinterpretation of 2NE1’s hit song ‘Missing You’ was reborn with their individual tastes added to it.

‘Missing You’ was a mega hit, sweeping across 9 Korean real time, daily and weekly music charts, with the four members’ sentimental voices in the ballad melody.

SONG MINHO’s version of the rapping kick starts the song, with KANG SEUNGYOON’s weighty vocal along his guitar comes in, followed by NAM TAEHYUN and KIM JINWOO’s unique voices. LEE SEUNGHOON’s rap adds another flavor to 2NE1’s newly born song.

Fans are patiently waiting to see the next episode, where the members will reveal a parody of the hit drama ‘The Heirs.’

WINNER TV, a program that features the enthusiastic WINNER becoming a professional boy band, is aired every Friday at 10 pm on Mnet and Naver TV Cast.

YG Entertainment (“YG”)’s new boy group WINNER (NAM TAEHYUN, KANG SEUNGYOON, SONG MINHO, KIM JINWOO, and LEE SEUNGHOON) challenges their senior YG group 2NE1 (BOM, DARA, CL, and MINZY).

WINNER discloses WINNER’s version of “MISSING YOU”, 2NE1’s ballad song, in cable channel Mnet’s reality show “WINNER TV” that will be broadcasted in the evening on the 24.

WINNER’s “MISSING YOU” starts with SONG MINHO’s rap and is an acoustic song in which the tones of KANG SEUNGYOON, NAM TAEHYUN, and KIM JINWOO create a harmony.

Plus, WINNER’s “1st WINNER WINTER SPORTS COMPETITION” held on a snow field will be also disclosed in the episode, too.

WINNER members compete with one another to gain the gold medal in the sports competition of three events including a race on a snowy field, hit-or-miss snow sledge race, and snow wrestling.

Meanwhile, WINNER is to make their official debut by the end of February this year.
